Donor Reference
Some charities operate an envelope scheme so that Gifts can be given in an anonymous way, whilst allowing the Gift to be linked back to the Donor.
A Donor Reference is the way to do this in Max My Gift.
The Donor Reference can also be used to help when entering regular Gifts.
Example
If a Donor has been assigned a set of envelopes with the number 019 we can associate this reference with a Gift of say £7 every week to the General charity fund starting from a given date.
The program will use this information to prompt for the next Gift.
A Donor can have multiple references associated with them or none.
A reference uniquely identified a Donor so cannot be reused for a more than one Donor.
A donor reference can also be used to indicate a Sponsored Event
